ideas for the front cover

This was the initial idea for the front cover of the album. As we started to be comfortable with looking at various examples of successful artists in the jazz/soul scene, we noticed that the image was kept to a minimum and no effects were added on. So we thought of just placing a close up shot of the artist with the name of the band written at the top. The close up would convey that it does not have to look overdone as all it does need is her face for recognition.

Our second idea came about when realizing that most jazz/soul music videos would contain scenes where the artist has to perform on stage and we wanted to express that through the front cover of the album as well. We would have her placed in front of a microphone stand and appearing as though she is actually performing. This would also interlink with our potential music video where there are performance scenes throughout.

Our final idea for the front cover would be of the artist standing presumably on top of a hill holding a bunch of balloons. We thought that this would connect this image with the music video where in the last scenes she is using this prop in the same location.
